What is the difference between intercom and paging?

Intercom is the process of dialing a code on your phone to reach a specific extension, the call is placed on speakerphone automatically and allows a bi-directional conversation between both parties of the call.

Paging is the process of dialing a code on your phone to reach all extensions on your account, the call is placed on speakerphone automatically but paging is only a one-way broadcast from the person who placed the call to all extensions on the account. If someone speaks during the paging process the person placing the call will not hear the speaker.

In both cases any extensions in use will be skipped and unreachable until the call ends.
