Activate Device

Customers should carefully follow the installation instructions below when installing new Helix Telecom devices.

If a Helix Telecom device is connected to the internet and ready to activate simply dial 611# and follow the prompts. You will be prompted for the Account Number, Activation Pin and Extension Number for your account. All information required to activate new equipment or update/configure existing equipment can be found in the Support Portal by visiting https://fixmyphonesystem.com/login.

Phone Installation Instructions

Below are installation manuals for each model phone. Please be sure to review your invoice and the manual below for more information on how to install your new Helix Telecom equipment.

Grandstream GXP-1400 GXP-1610, GXP-1760, GXP-1780, GXP-1782, GXP-2100, GXP-2120, GXP-2124, GXP-2130, GXP-2140, GXP-2160, GXP-2170

Grandstream GRP-26XX

Customers should only follow the instructions found below. Helix Telecom is not responsible for return shipping charges for customers who fail to read and follow installation instructions provided below.

If you are connecting the phone via a wired internet connection then follow the instructions found at gxp-installation-instructions.pdf.

If you are connecting the phone via WiFi then follow these instructions:

  • Follow the included assembly instructions to connect the base stand, handset cable and power cable to the phone only. Do not follow any other instructions found on the enclosed Grandstream equipment instruction manuals.
  • The phone display will require several seconds to illuminate and begin booting after connecting the power cable.
  • Wait for the phone to complete booting and the clock to appear on the display.
  • Press the CIRCLE BUTTON found between the 4 arrow keys to display the menu.
  • Press the right arrow button until you highlight SYSTEM.
  • Press the CIRCLE BUTTON to select SYSTEM.
  • Press the DOWN ARROW button to highlight WIFI SETTINGS.
  • Press the CIRCLE BUTTON to select WIFI SETTINGS.
  • Press the RIGHT ARROW button to enable WIFI.
  • Press the DOWN ARROW button until you highlight SCAN.
  • Press the CIRCLE BUTTON to select SCAN.
  • Press the DOWN ARROW button until you highlight your WiFi network name.
  • Press the CONNECT softkey below the screen to connect to your WiFi network. If your network is password protected you will be prompted to enter the network password. Use the number keys to enter the correct password. If you need assistance with this step contact a qualified technician to help you. Press the OK softkey when finished entering the password.
  • You will be greeted with a message stating WIFI NETWORK CONNECTED.
  • Disconnect power from your phone, wait 10 seconds, reconnect power.

Grandstream GXP-1760W

Please Submit A Ticket containing your WiFi network name and password prior to installation. The Grandstream GXP-1760W must be physically connected to a wired internet connection during the initial configuration. Once the initial configuration is complete and the phone is successfully connected to WiFi it may be disconnected from the internet and moved to another location.

Manual Provisioning

The following instructions are designed for resellers and advanced users. These instructions should only be followed under direction of a Helix Telecom staff member.

Customers provisioning their own equipment must read and accept the Terms of Service at https://tos.helixtelecom.com before following these instructions. The instructions are designed to erase and update your device configuration for use with Helix Telecom service only. This process cannot be reversed even if service is canceled.

Accessing Helix Telecom systems without a valid account and agreeing to the Terms of Service are subject to 18 U.S.C. ยง 1030 of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Do not follow the instructions below unless you have downloaded, read, agree too and understand the Helix Telecom Terms of Service and you have a valid Helix Telecom Cloud PBX account.

I want to manually provision my phone using a web interface.


  • Obtain the IP address of your phone. The IP address is 4 numbers separated by periods. For example.. 192.168.0.27. Your IP address may be different.
  • Enter the IP address into your web browser address bar.
  • If the IP address was correctly entered into your web browser address bar you should be prompted for the password.
  • Enter admin into the password field. If prompted for a username and password then enter admin into both fields. If admin does not work then your phone may be simlocked and may not be used with Helix Telecom's service. Skip to the next section, reset the phone and repeat the provision process.
  • Follow one of the following steps depending on the model firmware on your phone:
    • Click SETTINGS from the top menu. Click ADVANCED SETTINGS from the sub-menu.
    • Click MAINTENANCE from the top menu. Click UPGRADE & PROVISIONING from the sub-menu.
  • You will need to change the following settings:
    • Upgrade Via = HTTPS radio button
    • Config Server Path = provision.helixtelecom.com/tftpboot. It is important that no spaces are included before or after the config server path. The Config Server Path must be in lower case or the provision process may fail.
  • Scroll to the bottom and click UPDATE or SAVE & APPLY depending on the model phone.
  • Wait 10 seconds.
  • If the phone does not automatically reboot then disconnect power from the phone for a period of approximately 10 seconds.
  • Reconnect power.
  • Wait 20 minutes.
  • Lift the handset and dial 611#. You should hear a voice recording.
  • Follow the prompts to activate your phone.

I want to manually provision my GRP26XX phone from the keypad.


The following instructions only apply to the Grandstream GRP-26XX series phones. These instructions should only be followed upon request of a Helix Telecom staff member by an advanced user.

  • Press the MENU button. The MENU button is the circle button in the center of 4 arrow keys found to the right of the numeric keypad.
  • Press the RIGHT ARROW button until you highlight SYSTEM.
  • Press the MENU button to select SYSTEM.
  • Press the DOWN ARROW button until you highlight UPGRADE.
  • Press the MENU button to select UPGRADE.
  • Press the DOWN ARROW button until you highlight CONFIG SERVER.
  • Press the BACKSPACE button until the CONFIG SERVER field is empty and the digits 123 appear on the display.
  • Enter the following digits on the keypad: 45*32*5*251
  • Click the SAVE button.
  • The message Configuration has been saved. should appear on the display.
  • Disconnect power from the phone.
  • Count to 10.
  • Reconnect power.
  • Wait 15 minutes for the phone to update. Do not lift the handset, press any digits on the keypad, disconnect power or tamper with the phone for 15 minutes. Failure to follow these instructions may cause your phone to malfunction or fail.
