How to connect the Atcom A-series phones to WiFi.
The following instructions explain how to enable WiFi on a Atcom A series phone and connect the phone to WiFi. Please note the Atcom phones cannot be connected to both WiFi and a wired ethernet connection at the same time. If you are following the instructions below then disconnect the ethernet cable from your phone before beginning.
Before beginning confirm your WiFi password only contains the following letters, numbers and symbols otherwise the WiFi password will need to be changed before proceeding:
- Lower case letters;
- Upper case letters;
- Numbers;
- Special characters: . * : @ $ # + - \ = ( ( [ ] { }
Follow these instructions to begin:
- Connect the phone to power. The display should include the clock. The clock may be incorrect until the phone is configured.
- Press the MENU button. The MENU button contains 3 vertical dots left of 3 lines.
- Press the number 2 key on the keypad to access the WiFi menu.
- If Wireless is OFF then press the button labeled SWITCH. You should see WIFI INITIALIZING appear on the screen.
- The Wireless status should change to ON.
- Press the DOWN/UP arrow buttons to locate and highlight your wireless network. On the A10W or A20W model phones you will only see one wireless network at a time appear on your screen. On the A41W, A48W and A68W model phones you will see a list of wireless networks appear on your screen.
- Highlight or select the wireless network you would like to use.
- Press the button labeled CONNECT.
- If your wireless network requires a password then you will be prompted to enter it. Wireless network passwords are case sensitive.
Use the following number keys to enter your password:
- If the character is a 0 press the “0” key.
- If the password character is a 1 press the “1” key.
- If the password character is a number between 2 and 9, a lower case letter or a upper case letter press the appropriate number on the keypad to scroll through numbers, lower case letters and upper case letters.
- If the password character is one of these characters use the “star” key: . * : @ $
- If the password character is one of these characters use the “pound” / “number sign” key: # + - \ = ( ) [ ] { }
- If you mis-enter a character press the DELETE button.
After the password is entered continue with these steps:
- Press the CONNECT button.
- You should see VERIFYING PASSWORD appear on the display.
- You should receive a status message indicating SUCCESS or FAILURE. If successful the WiFi icon should appear on the display. If the connection was not successful or the wireless network rejected the connection you will see a password failed message.
- Press the BACK button to return to the previous menu.
- Press the BACK button to return to the main menu.
- If the phone failed to connect then try repeating the steps above or contact a technician to assist you.
