How do I use On-Demand Call Recording?

As of September 23, 2016 the On-Demand Call Recording feature is in beta testing. Customers who use this feature but do not receive delivery of their call recordings must Submit A Ticket for assistance within 8 hours of completing the call. This will allow our engineers enough time to review logs to identify the cause of the failure and deliver any missing call recordings too you via the ticket system.

In order to use the On-Demand Call Recording feature simply dial *1 from your Helix Telecom phone while the call is in progress. Upon dialing *1 all participants of the call should hear a beep tone indicating the call recording has started. The finished call recording should be emailed too you in MP3 format within 2 minutes of disconnecting the call.

There are some limitations of this service:

Only calls made too or from the Public Switch Telephone Network are recorded.
Calls forwarded to cell phones and home phones are not recorded (even if you hear the beep indicating the call is being recorded).
Helix Telecom is still troubleshooting call recordings for calls transferred between extensions.
You must enable Email Notification of Voicemail on your extension. All On-Demand Call Recordings are emailed too the address configured on your extension. Click here for instructions explaining how to enable Email Notification of Voicemail on your extension.
The call must be in progress to begin the call recording. Dialing *1 before the call is connected or after the call is disconnected will not start recording the call. Listen for the BEEP tone to confirm call recording has started.
Call recording begins when pressing *1. Pressing *1 will not record any audio prior to the beep confirmation.
Dialing *1 will not start or stop calls recorded via the Automatic Call Recording feature. If Automatic Call Recording is enabled on your account then this feature will not modify the Automatic Call Recording behavior.
