What make and model routers does Helix Telecom recommend?

Helix Telecom recommends the following model routers with a manufacture date of 2015 or later:

  • Netgear WNR-series routers (such as a WNR1000, WNR2000, etc.. )
  • Netgear N-series routers (such as the Netgear N150, N300, N600, N900, etc.. )
  • Netgear R-series routers (such as a Netgear R300, R300, R8000, R9000, etc.. )
  • Netgear AC-series routers (such a a Netgear AC2100, AC2400, etc.. )
  • Netgear WNDR-series routers (such as the Netgear WNDR4720, WNDR4700, etc..)
  • Cisco RV1XX series routers
  • Cisco RV2XX series routers
  • Cisco RV3XX series routers
  • TP-Link with “Hardware NAT” or “NAT Boost” disabled

What manufacturers are known to have problems with Helix Telecom service?

Customers should read the Suitable Internal Network Composition paragraph of the Helix Telecom Terms of Service at http://tos.helixtelecom.com for a list of routers and devices not supported by Helix Telecom.

The following manufacturers are reported to have problems working with Helix Telecom service or may experience failures during heavy load.

  • Routers with a manufacturer date before 2015
  • Linksys routers
  • Belkin routers
  • Dell SonicWALL
  • Eero routers (when connected to a routing device)
  • Sonic Firewall appliances
  • Cisco Prosafe series routers
  • Cisco FVS318 or FVM318 routers
  • Cisco RV042 routers
