What is a valid Caller ID for my SIP Trunk?

Helix Telecom recommends customers adhere to the following policies when selecting a Caller ID:

  • The Caller ID must be a valid 10 digit USA based phone number;
  • The Caller ID must be a VoIP number;
  • The issuer of the Caller ID must permit third party origination;
  • The Caller ID must be owned by the business originating the calls;

The following practices will cause your account to be locked and/or terminated:

  • Use of a Caller ID for a different service class (such as a VoIP call using a landline number or a mobile phone number);
  • Use of a Caller ID from a carrier that does not support third party call origination (such as a Skype issued phone number);
  • Use of rotating or varying Caller ID numbers within a single 72 hour period;
  • The PBX or dialer originating calls is located outside the United States;
