Toll free phone numbers provide an easy way for your customers to reach your business without incurring these long distance charges. Of course just because you have a toll free number does not mean there are no long distance charges. Toll free numbers are simply an easy way to tell your customer's phone company that you will cover the cost of calling your business long distance.
How does a toll free prepaid deposit work?
Helix Telecom makes it easy to cover your customer's long distance charges by asking your customers to dial your toll free phone number. At the end of each day Helix Telecom receives a bill from your customer's phone company. Helix Telecom pay the bill and deducted that amount from your toll free account balance. *

How does Helix Telecom refill my prepaid toll free balance?
All customers start with $0.00 in their prepaid toll free account balance. When ordering a toll free phone number you must prepay a minimum of $25.00. This amount is credited to your prepaid toll free account balance.
At the end of every day Helix Telecom deducts toll free usage from your prepaid toll free account balance. If your prepaid toll free account balance falls below $10.00 then Helix Telecom automatically adds the larger of the following two amounts to your prepaid toll free account balance:
- $25.00
- The total toll free account balance usage for the past 30 days.
Upon crediting your toll free account balance Helix Telecom will send you an invoice for the same amount.
What is an example of the toll free recharge process?
As an example.. Your account has a $25 toll free balance at the beginning of your business day.
You use 500 minutes of toll free time during a single business day and 10,000 minutes of toll free time per month. The cost per minute is 0.04/minute*.
At the end of your business day Helix Telecom totals your toll free usage and calculates you consumed $20.00 in toll free time. Helix Telecom deducts $20.00 from your $25.00 toll free balance leaving you a remaining toll free balance is $5.00.
Your balance has fallen below the $10.00 minimum set for your account. Helix Telecom automatically adds the larger of the following two amounts to your prepaid toll free account balance:
- $25.00
- 10,000 minutes * 0.04/minute or $400.00.
Helix Telecom credits your account $400.00. Your new balance is $405.00. The Helix Telecom Billing Department will send you an invoice within 48 hours for $400.00.

Why does Helix Telecom require a minimum of 30 days contribution towards my toll free balance?
Every recharge must be manually reviewed by the Helix Telecom Billing Department clerk before an invoice is generated. This policy limits the number of time any customer's account must be reviewed each month.
Can I share my toll free balance with all my toll free phone numbers?
Yes. All your toll free phone numbers must reside on the same account.
Are toll free payments refundable?
No. Helix Telecom is happy to credit any outstanding toll free balances towards monthly service charges after all toll free phone numbers on your account have been terminated.
Am I responsible for fraudulent charges on my toll free phone number?
If you are receiving a large number of prank calls on your toll free phone number please submit a ticket and a member of our Support Department will attempt to block the calls. Please be sure to include the CallerID of the person dialing your phone number. Helix Telecom does not offer credits or refunds for malicious callers.
Does Helix Telecom profit from toll free per minute charges?
No. The cost per minute is designed to cover third party billing and a number of federal taxes. Toll free phone numbers are offered to customers as a convenience.
I would like a report of total calls and duration for my toll free phone number(s).
Helix Telecom does not offer Call Detail Records for toll free phone numbers. Customers who need this information should sign up for a toll free phone number with a third party forwarding service.
