How do I set speed dial keys for my Atcom A48W?

The following instructions require customers to access the web interface built into the Atcom phone. If your phone is connected via wireless and your router has Wireless Isolation enabled then your router may block access to the web interface from your computer. If this occurs you have 2 options. Option #1 is to disable Wireless Isolation on your router. Option #2 is to use a network cable to connect form the LAN port on the back of the Atcom phone to a port on your router, disconnect power from the phone for a period of 3 seconds, reconnect power, wait for the phone to complete the boot process then repeat the following instructions. When you have finished following these instructions then disconnect the network cable from your Atcom phone, disconnect power for a period of 3 seconds, reconnect power and wait for the phone to complete the boot process. The phone should reconnect to your wireless network automatically. If you continue to experience difficulty please contact a qualified IT technician to assist you.

The following instructions will explain to configure a speed dial key for the Atcom A48W model phone.

  • Press the CHECKBOX key (found in the middle of the 4 arrow keys to the left of the LCD screen). This will display the IP address of your Atcom A48W phone.
  • Enter the IP of the phone into your favorite web browser.
  • You will be prompted to login. Enter “user” for the username and “123” for the password. Click LOGIN when you have entered this information.
  • Click the DSS KEYS menu option at the top of the screen.
  • Click MEMORY KEYS from the left hand menu.

You may enter up to 8 speed dial keys.

Configuring a speed dial key will require you to configure the TYPE, VALUE and LABEL columns.

As an example we will configure DSS KEY 6. KEY 6 will be assigned to John's Cell and John's phone number will be 516-555-1212.

  • KEY column = DSS KEY6
  • TYPE column = PREFIX
  • VALUE column = John's cell phone number followed by the # sign. In this case 5165551212#
  • LABEL column = JOHNCELL

Click CONFIRM when you have finished configuring the speed dial keys. You should receive a message stating SAVED SUCCESSFULLY.

If you spend more than a few minutes configuring the speed dial keys then you may be prompted to login to save changes. Just enter “user” and “123” into the appropriate fields. You will not loose your changes.

How do I use the speed dial key configured on my Atcom A48W?

If you would like to place a call then simply choose a empty line key then press the speed dial key. The call should complete successfully.

If you would like to transfer a call to a configured speed dial key then answer a call or place an outgoing call, press the TRANSFER key (see the LCD screen), press the speed dial key you would like to transfer the call too then either press the TRANSFER key a second time or simply hang up the handset.
