What is Call Parking?
Call Parking allows a customer to place a person on hold then retrieve the call from any other Helix Telecom phone.
If the call is not retrieved after 180 seconds the call is forwarded to the extension who parked the call.
How do I park a call?
Follow these instructions to park a call:
- Complete an attended transfer to extension

. - You will be provided a 3 digit space number.
- Document the space number. This number is required to retrieve the call from another location.
- Complete the transfer
How do I park a call on a Grandstream GXP series phone?
Follow these instructions to park a call on a Grandstream GXP series phone:
- While on a call with CALLER A press any free line.
- CALLER A will be automatically put on hold.
- Dial
*40#
. You will hear your 3 digit space number for CALLER A. - Press the TRANSFER KEY.
- Select the line where CALLER A is on hold.
- CALLER A is now parked on the 3 digit space number provided by the phone system.
How do I retrieve a parked call?
Follow these instructions to retrieve the call from another location:
- Dial
*40
+ the 3 digit space number where the call was parked + # - Your phone will beep.
- You are now speaking with the caller who was parked.
I parked the caller but I cannot recall the space number?
Wait 3 minutes. The caller will be automatically forwarded back to the extension they were parked from.
